Cattleya Irene Teo Lai Kheng, a hybrid orchid bred by Woon Leng Nurs. in 2014, combines Cattleya Aloha Case and Cattleya coccinea. It features compact plants with 2-4 flowers per new growth, each about 3 1/2" wide, in shades from red to deep purple. The flower's lip mirrors these colors with a yellow throat. Known for their pleasant scent and beauty, these flowers are admired for their appealing qualities.

Heyemao Lan, also known as Heyiping Lan, is a sturdy orchid with grainy leaves, thriving in the central and eastern Himalayas at elevations of 2000 to 3320 meters, as well as in Myanmar, Tibet, and Yunnan. In traditional Chinese medicine, it's called Heyemohu and used as a tonic to aid digestion. A decoction made from 3-9 grams of the whole plant is believed to nourish the stomach, promote body fluid production, and alleviate symptoms like hot flushes, fever, and anorexia, enhancing overall well-being. |
