Vanda Tessellata - ​Used in Citrus 7 (Women) for Team building Perfume workshop​
This is a wonderful Vanda species some believe was native to India. Others believe that it was found in IndoChina region. Semi-terete leaves make for a smaller stature than most strap-leaf vandas. The flowers have a wonderful contrast with tan-brown petals and sepals and a purple lip. Some people think that it smells like s'mores. But most people found a beautiful sweet-citrus smell to it. Flowers generally live long occuring in the summer, fall and early winter.
​Beautiful floral smell, with hints of Mulberry and guava, that no one can ignore. This is widely used in Asia as a cure-all. Ask your grand-ma and she might have a story to tell you about it. Its ayurvedic names are Rasna/Rasya. 
The orchid contains variety of alkaloids, tannins, resin, saponin, beta & gamma sitosterols, fatty oil. It had anti-arthritic,. Blood pressure management and wound healing effect in rats.

Ancient cultures have used this Orchid extensively for anti-ageing.

Vietnamese names: Hoang thao, Po len, Co anh
This attractive Dendrobium is distributed from the eastern Himalaya to Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand Indochina and Peninsular Malaysia.
Phytochemistry: 4 bibenzyls isolated from D. pulchellum showed to facilitate anoikis (cell death resulting from failure to attach to extracellular matrix) and inhibit growth of lung cancer cells.
Herbal Usage: Petelot reported that Chinese living in Indochina at that time used this orchid and D. gratiosissimum Rchb. to make medicine, presumably using them as shihu. It is still being used as shihu in Vietnam.

It flowers from June to October corresponding to the driest period of the year.
Herbal Usage: The heated pulp of crushed stems of the orchid is used as a poultice for whitlow in Amboin (Sulawesi) (Rumphius, second half seventeenth century)

Chinese name: Huiyanhuoshao Lan (grey rock flaming orchid), Huoshao Lan (flaming orchid)
It is widespread throughout Europe, and also occurs in Pakistan and Nepal.
Herbal Usage: The medicinal plant is collected from Yunnan, although the species and this variety is widely distributed throughout the temperate regions of the northern hemisphere. In TCM it is principally employed as a tonic. The entire plant is used to clear heat from the lungs and liver, and to stop coughs and clear phlegm, improve blood circulation, relieve toothache, diarrhoea, backache and to treat snake bites.  Juice of the roots is administered to treat insanity and gout in Nepal.

Chinese medicinal name: Jiuliandeng (nine lotus lamps)
Taiwanese name: single leaf Liparis
Japanese name: Chi-kei-ran (bamboo grass Cymbidium)
Herb is epiphytic or lithophytic, with small, clustered, ovoid pseudobulbs. It is distributed from Nepal to south- ern China up to Hainan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan (Ryukyu Islands, Kyushu), Korea, Indochina, Thailand, Philippines, Borneo, Java, the Langkawi Islands and Myanmar at 800–2300 m.
Herbal Usage: Botanically, in CTM, Jiuliandeng, the entire plant is used to treat fever, enrich qi and blood, treat tuberculosis, lymph node enlargement in tuberculosis, sores and ulcers, abdominal pain, distension and schistosomiasis. Cooked with pork, it provides a remedy for coughs and sore throat.

Malay name: Sakat lidah buaya
It is a common, sun-loving, lowland, miniature species distributed in Indochina, Thailand, and from Sumatra eastwards to Malaysia, Kalimantan, the Philippines and Sulawesi.
Herbal Usage: The pulverized plant was used as a poultice to treat boils and i​nfected wounds in Malaysia
