Brassolaelia Yellow Bird - Used in Citrus 7 (Men) for Team building Perfume workshop
Yellow Bird is a bright and will brighten your day. The flower petals start out kind of darkish orange or maroon but after a few days they turn yellow. The flowers are about 3 inches across and usually clustered 3-4 on a spike. It has garnered 11 American Orchid Society awards and flower at least two times a year. It a non native but added to our portfolio because of its smell. It's odorless during the day, but night a really beautiful smell is emitted. |

Coelogyne prolifera Lindl. Syn. Coelogyne flavida Hook. f.
Chinese name: Huanglubeimu Lan Nepali names: Liso in Gurong dialect, Thurgaujo (Nepali) Phytochemistry: Flavidin, 9,10- dihydrophenanthrene derivative, has been isolated. Four related compounds, flavidinin and oxoflavidinin a 9,10-dihydrophenanthropyran named flaccidin and imbricatin are also present in the orchid. Herbal Usage: Paste made with pseudobulbs of C. prolifera is rubbed on the back to relieve backache and to treat boils in Nepal. |
Holcoglossum quasipinifolium (Hayata) Schltr.
Chinese names: Songye Lan (pine leaf orchid), (pine needle orchid), Qiaochun Lan (sledge lip orchid), Caoshe Lan (slot tongue orchid); Yeludongqing (green leaf pine). This semi-terete leaf orchid, once thought to be was endemic in Taiwan, where it occurs invthe Central Mountain Range at 2000–2500 m, often growing on the branches of Quercus. Herbal Usage: The whole plant is used to remove wind and dampness. It causes diuresis and is used for joint pains. It has a broader range of medicinal usage being also used to treat varied infections (malaria, sore throat, mastitis and urinary tract infection) and bleeding disorders (irregular menstruation and traumatic bleeding). |

Chinese name: Sun Lan (bamboo orchid) Chinese medicinal names: Yan Sun (rock bamboo); Yanjiao (rock horn); Shizhuzi (stone bamboo) Jiegudan (fracture union pill); Shisun (rock bamboo); Yanzhu (rock bamboo) Thai names: Chang Nga Dieo (in general), Phothuki (in Karen Mae Hong Son), Sawet sot si (in Bangkok), Ueang nga chang (in Chiang Mai) Nepalese names: Goliano It flowers in June in China and from March to August, in Bhutan, Darjeeling and Sikkim. It is usually lithophytic, sometimes found in the hollows of large branches of trees growing in rocky soil. It has a wide distribution from India, through Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, eastern Tibet, southwest Sichuan and southern Yunnan to Thailand and Malaysia. Herbal Usage: Herb is collected throughout the year. It is used fresh. For storage, it is first boiled, then dried. Chinese herbalists use the whole plant to enrich yin, benefit the lungs, clear phlegm and stop coughs, improve blood flow, remove bruises and assist the healing of fractures. It supposedly dissolves extravasated blood and improves circulation. In Nepal, its paste is used to help set fractures. |
Ischnogyne manadarinanum (Kranzl.) Schltr.
Chinese name: Shoufang Lan (slim house orchid) Flowering season is May to June. This saxicolous orchid grows on rocks in forest and ravines at 700–1500 m in Shaanxi, Gansu, Hubei, Sichuan and Guizhou in China. Herbal Usage: Herb is obtained from Shanxi, Hubei and Sichuan. In China, the whole plant is sometimes used to treat tuberculous patients who cough, and bronchitis. The herb is obtained from Shaanxi, Hubei and Sichuan. |
