 How to Recognise a Good Quality Perfume?
 
I am sure that almost everyone would like to pay for good quality products and make their money worth. However, what entails in allowing us to make a wise decision in our perfumes purchase, especially when some of the marketed and branded perfumes can easily damage a hole in our wallets and pockets?
 
Qn #1 Does it Smell Pleasant to You?
The number one criteria and question you should ask yourself is: “do you like the scent you are smelling?”.
Because, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and preferences are very subjective which could influence the quality or ‘beauty’ that people perceive in the perfume.

If you don’t even like it, you should never consider purchasing it. Therefore, this question will be the very first one you should ask yourself to judge the quality of this fragrance.
 

Qn #2 How is the Fragrance Strength?

Can you even smell it? Is it detectable and diffusive enough such that others can smell it on you when you wear it as well?

If not, you may want to remove this perfume from your shopping list! A quality product should at least meet the requirement of being able to deliver its original function.

A perfume that smells almost odorless would not be able to fulfill its job and purpose as a perfume; which is to allow you to smell good and allow others be able to perceive your good smelling perfume as well!
 

Qn #3 Is there Good Fragrance Synergy?

How does the fragrance smell like? Does the scent smell flat or does the fragrance not have a good fragrance synergy combination, making it smells strange?

If these signs are observed from the perfumes you have, it can either mean that the fragrance is not properly mixed and formulated or the perfume have turned bad due to bad storage conditions.

Qn #4 How do you find the Fragrance Profile Evolution?

Fragrance profile will definitely change over time due to the existence of top, middle, base notes in most general perfume fragrance composition. However, we have to note if the changes are consistent over time as compared to how its originals changes were.

If you find that your perfume profile has greatly changed from how it initially was, it could mean that your perfume quality has turned bad or have expired.

The causes of perfumes turning bad could be due to bad storage environment such as storing it in the toilet where humidity level is high or under exposed sunlight and in a place where is hot and damp. This is because perfumes degradation can be easily hastened in such environments. The best place to store them are in a cool, dry and dark place.
 

In Summary,
To spend your bucks on worthy and quality perfumes, you should like the fragrance profile you are smelling, have a fragrance intensity you are comfortable with and take note the changes to your perfume fragrance profile. Lastly, it is to store your perfumes in a suitable environment so as to maintain its quality.
