88-How to Achieve Optimum Workplace Productivity

The following pointers below are the keys that can support you in adding this skill to your arsenal. Let's dive into them now!

1.  Fuel Your Body
Breakfast - it is the first food nutrition that enters your body. And to gain focused energy for our body to last till noon, this meal cannot be missed. 
                 
Consequently, without breakfast, our minds tend to be more hazy and unproductive when we want to start work in the mornings.
 
Never, skip meals. It slows down your body metabolism and the clarity of your thoughts. And by means of survival, your brain will constantly project to you your need for food, reminding you of your hunger, and preventing you from working effectively.
        
Avoid sugary or oily food. Sugary food elevates your blood glucose level, which slows down your cognitive processing function. While trans fats in oily food raises your blood pressure and is associated with deteriorating cognitive brain activities.  

2. Exercise Regularly
Many research has shown an increase in brain activity when one does exercises that reach a certain moderate intensity, such as running, biking, swimming and even dancing.
 
Moments after you exercise are the perfect time where it gives your body the spurt in productivity. Your body pumps in adrenaline and keeps your mind in its active and nimble state. Furthermore, usually this state of mind extends even hours after your exercise, in accordance to the intensity of your workout.
 
Experts have gathered that for an individual to maintain a healthy fitness routine, one should exercise at least thrice per week.

3. Plan a Consistent Routine 
You can already start planning your daily regime by scheduling in the first two sets of pointers. Write them down on your planner and set reminders on your phone to keep you from forgetting.
 
Self-discipline is the key. Motivation can be very challenging to develop but once you gain momentum, it is also hard to lose it.
 
More often than not, setting yourself a clear and specific goal to achieve within a time frame is pivotal in keeping up your motivation. You should also question yourself by staying on track, what are your laboured rewards. These reasons can help you keep your mind focused on your purpose for this routine.

4. Attack the Challenging Assignments First
 
Why I suggest this is because, by completing the most difficult task first, you can breeze through the remainder of your day. At the same time, saving you the energy to fret and worry whether you can complete your tasks on time.
 
Having these time-consuming issues gone by striking off the difficult tasks first, you will not only allow yourself to feel a sense of achievement, but also make you feel more driven in your work, which in turn help you to gain more productivity.

5. Don’t Bite Off More Than You Can Chew
 
Learn to say No - A seemingly simple response but yet can be daunting at times. 
 
So why then do people choose not to say it? It could be pride, thinking you can stomach the overwhelming tasks, or it could be the fear of rejection and judgement if you did not accept the task, or even both, or some other reasons.
 
But I’m sure you know that by accepting more than you can take, they are all unhealthy to you, both physically (if you have to burn midnight oils) and mentally (stressing about the upcoming deadlines). Plus, it kills your joy and your time, as you would probably rather be productive in doing something else.
 
We all understand how easy it is for me to write this, but to do it is a different story. But this is a passage everyone must learn to go through in life. Be kind to yourself, and set your own boundaries so others can recognize and respect it.

6. Building Better Relationship with Your Colleagues 
 
I have left this as the last keynote as the few pointers above, could supplement ideas to make this suggestion work.
 
First off, you can start by understanding each other’s working style. Pointers 3 to 4 above, can showcase insights as to what kind of working style both your colleagues and yourself have. From there, you can understand one another’s boundaries and routines, and also come to a compromise in work delegation, so we don’t get too overworked. 
 
Secondly, quality time. As most of our time is spent completing our assigned workload, we may not have time or energy left to work on building relationships with your colleagues. But pointers 1 and 2 can help give you some ideas.
